Angel and Gavin made the drive up from Birmingham to Huntsville for their engagement photos, and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to spend the evening with. We met up in downtown Huntsville at the First United Methodist Church, one of my favorite spots for engagement sessions because of the gorgeous architecture and soft evening light. Scheduling their session right at sunset gave us that dreamy golden glow that makes photos feel timeless and romantic.

Angel looked absolutely stunning in her bold red dress, which popped beautifully against the historic brick and greenery in downtown Huntsville. Gavin kept things classic and relaxed, letting Angel’s dress take the spotlight. Together, they had such natural chemistry, even though they told me right away they were “terrible at posing,” you’d never know it looking at their photos.

As a Huntsville engagement photographer, I always remind my couples that it’s not about stiff poses but about having fun and being yourselves. Angel and Gavin leaned into that, and we ended up laughing through the entire session. Those candid smiles and little in-between moments always turn out to be some of my favorite images.
