There’s something about a Gulf Coast wedding that just hits differently—the salt air, the soft breeze, the way the light dances off the water—and Alyson and Austin’s wedding day on April 11, 2026 was the perfect example of that magic.
From the very beginning, their story already felt like something straight out of a movie.
A Love Story Years in the Making
Alyson and Austin’s story started way back in 2006. Austin was best friends with Alyson’s brother, and while Alyson admits she always had a little crush on him, there was one unspoken rule—you don’t date your sibling’s best friend. So their connection stayed a friendship… for over 15 years.
Fast forward to 2023, life brought them back together. What had been a long-standing friendship finally turned into something more. By 2025, they were engaged—and just a year later, they were saying “I do” on the beaches of Gulf Shores before heading off to honeymoon in Mobile.
The Dreamiest Beachside Ceremony
Their ceremony took place right on the beach, just steps away from the pavilion—and truly, the weather could not have been more perfect. Blue skies, gentle breeze, and that golden coastal light made everything feel effortless and calm.
Alyson looked absolutely stunning in her gown from Azazie. Her dress featured delicate button details running all the way down the back, with soft straps falling off her shoulders. She paired it with a pearl necklace and a classic veil that caught the breeze in the most beautiful way. Austin looked just as sharp in his suit from Friar Tux.
Her hair and makeup by Madison French (Instagram: @madison.french15) tied everything together perfectly. It was soft, timeless, and effortless.
One of the sweetest moments of the day was her first look with her dad. It was emotional in the best way, the kind of moment that just slows everything down.
Before the ceremony, we spent time on the beach capturing her bridal portraits, wedding party photos, and family portraits—giving them plenty of time to actually enjoy the rest of their day later on.

Thoughtful Details & A Meaningful Ceremony
Instead of a first look, Alyson and Austin chose to do a first touch back at the pavilion. It was quiet, intentional, and so meaningful. They got to connect without seeing each other just yet.
Their ceremony was officiated by Austin’s sister, Morgan Huggins (Instagram: @seemogo), which made it even more personal. She is also the founder of their planning team, Charmly Co, who helped bring the entire day together so seamlessly.
All of their stationery was created through Canva, proving you really can create something beautiful and cohesive with the right eye for design.

A Reception Full of Coastal Elegance
The reception at the pavilion was the perfect blend of elegant and relaxed.
Tables lined the space, each one accented with soft florals and blue runners that tied everything together beautifully. Their sweetheart table was a standout—covered in greenery and florals with candles glowing behind them, creating such a romantic focal point.
Their two-tier cake was simple and timeless, decorated with florals cascading down the side.
Alyson’s florals came from Something Borrowed Blooms and you truly would never know they weren’t real. The white, baby blue, and green arrangements looked incredible in person. One of the best parts? Once the wedding was over, everything could simply be shipped back, making it such a convenient and stress-free option.
And one of the most personal touches? Cocktail napkins featuring their three cats: Henry, Harry, and Huey, plus little cut-out faces of them on sticks for the dance floor. It was fun, unique, and so them.

Sunset Portraits & The Best Kind of Celebration
We snuck away for sunset portraits, and they were everything you’d want from a Gulf Shores evening—the soft golden light, the waves in the background, and the sweetest, most natural moments between the two of them. We captured portraits both before and during sunset, and every single one felt like a dream.
Dinner followed, and it was just as amazing as the rest of the day—mahi-mahi, chicken, mashed potatoes, a vegetable mix, and salad. So good.
The reception was full of energy thanks to The Reckless Band, and one of the most fun moments of the night was when Alyson’s uncle jumped in on the drums. It completely lit up the dance floor and had everyone celebrating.
Austin shared a really special dance with four important women in his life, while Alyson’s dance with her dad was just as emotional and meaningful.

A Little Behind the Scenes
We drove down Friday night and stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites Gulf Shores East Beach near Gulf State Park, which was fantastic—super convenient, comfortable, and they had such a good breakfast to start the day. Saturday was spent celebrating Alyson and Austin for seven beautiful hours. Then Sunday morning, before heading home, we went to church at the Gulf Shores Church of Christ, which was such a wonderful time, and then grabbed lunch at The Gulf Restaurant & Bar (The Catch)—which was so good. We wrapped it up with a walk along the beach before making the drive back home.

The Sweetest Beginning
Alyson and Austin’s day was the perfect reminder that sometimes the best love stories take time. What started as a quiet crush turned into something steady, intentional, and so full of joy.
Every part of their day reflected that—thoughtful, meaningful, and surrounded by the people (and pets!) they love most.
And truly… there’s no better place to start forever than right there on the beach. 🌊🤍
