A Sentimental Summer Wedding at The Glasshouse at Alabama Eden in Rainbow City, AL

Chelsea & Logan | July 11, 2025

Chelsea and Logan’s wedding day was one of those rare, deeply meaningful celebrations that reminded me exactly why I love photographing weddings. On July 11, they exchanged vows surrounded by close family and friends at The Glasshouse at Alabama Eden, a dreamy venue tucked away in Rainbow City, Alabama. The original plan was to get married at the end of August, but life had other plans. Chelsea’s dad had been battling cancer, and with his health declining, they made the difficult decision to move the date up, so he could be there to witness it.

And wow, was it beautiful.

The Venue: Alabama Eden’s Glasshouse in Rainbow City, Alabama

If you’re looking for a venue that’s unique, intimate, and absolutely stunning in photos, Alabama Eden is one of my all-time favorites. It’s not just a venue, it’s a flower farm and full-service florist, and the glasshouse they’ve built on the property is a literal dream for photographers and couples alike. Light floods in from every angle, giving the space this soft, romantic glow. The owners are always so kind and attentive, and they go above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of. Bonus? They also handle all the wedding florals, which were incredible for this wedding.

The Details: Soft Florals, Sentimental Touches & Rainy-Day Magic

Chelsea carried an off-white bouquet filled with soft whites, blush pinks, and lush greenery. It was classic, romantic, and perfectly matched the feel of the day. Her bridesmaids (two of whom were her sisters!) wore sage green dresses and carried slightly smaller versions of her bouquet. The groomsmen kept things relaxed and timeless with white shirts and green suspenders.

About 30 minutes before the ceremony, it started to rain, but honestly, it ended up being a blessing. It cooled off the summer heat and stopped just in time for the ceremony to begin. The light mist and overcast sky made the colors pop in photos, and the timing couldn’t have been better.

Inside the glasshouse, the team at Alabama Eden flipped the ceremony space into a reception setup. One long table was set down the middle, lined with candles, fresh florals, and greenery that brought the entire space to life. Between the white drapery, floral arrangements, and a stunning chandelier overhead, the whole setup felt straight out of a fairytale.

The Ceremony: Emotion, Communion & Tears

This was one of the most emotional ceremonies I’ve ever photographed. Chelsea did the sweetest first look with her dad before the ceremony, and there wasn’t a dry eye around. Since he was too weak to walk her down the aisle, her mom stepped in—a moment that felt powerful and incredibly moving.

Logan’s reaction to seeing Chelsea walk down the aisle said everything. He was completely overcome with emotion, and the love in the room was palpable. One of the most beautiful parts of the ceremony was when the couple and all 40 of their guests took communion together.

The Reception: A First Dance with Her Brother & a Sparkler Exit

After the ceremony, everyone gathered for a cozy dinner and reception inside the glasshouse. Chelsea shared her first dance with her brother in honor of her father, which was another incredibly touching part of the day. There were no huge crowds, no over-the-top decor just intentional moments, heartfelt connections, and the kind of joy that makes this job so special.

They wrapped up the evening with a classic sparkler exit, followed by signing their marriage license—something I was honored to notarize for them before heading out.

Final Thoughts

Chelsea and Logan’s day wasn’t about perfection or Pinterest-worthy moments. It was about being surrounded by the people they love most and soaking up every second of a day that came together with so much heart. It was a reminder that intimate weddings can be just as powerful and meaningful as the biggest celebrations. In fact, sometimes they’re even more so.
