A Classic & Romantic Birmingham Wedding | Cecelia & Andrew at First Presbyterian Church + The Club

Cecelia and Andrew’s July 18th wedding in Birmingham, Alabama, was an unforgettable celebration filled with timeless details, heartfelt moments, and the perfect touch of California flair. Although they live on the West Coast, this sweet couple chose to tie the knot in Birmingham, where Andrew’s family is from—and it was truly a picture-perfect day, even with the off-and-on summer rain.

Getting Ready & Gorgeous Details

I started the day photographing some of the most beautiful wedding details I’ve ever seen! Cecelia had thoughtfully set aside a full invitation suite, perfume, jewelry, bridal hat, and her custom-stitched strapless gown—topped with pearls her mom had hand-sewn along the neckline. It was elegant, meaningful, and uniquely her.

Cecelia surprised her bridesmaids—who all traveled from California—with custom gift boxes that included matching robes, sunglasses, and other fun surprises. The girls wore blush pink dresses and carried soft pink and purple bouquets that popped perfectly against their dresses. The bride’s bouquet was a classic arrangement of soft white florals—absolutely dreamy, thanks to The White Willow.

First Look & Ceremony at Third Presbyterian Church

Cecelia and Andrew shared a quiet first look before their ceremony, and even with the rain clouds rolling in, their joy was completely radiant. Andrew and his five groomsmen wore classic black tuxes with bow ties, and everyone gathered at Third Presbyterian Church in Birmingham for the ceremony.

The church’s historic charm made the perfect setting for their vows, complete with live organ music by Hunter Golf and a stunning cello performance by Patty Pilon. After saying “I do,” Cecelia and Andrew exited in a vintage car provided by Dream Drives, adding the perfect touch of old-school romance.

Sunset Portraits & Reception at The Club

After the ceremony, the celebration continued at The Club, one of Birmingham’s most iconic venues. As the rain cleared, we caught the most magical sunset on the overlook—seriously, the view was stunning and gave us some of my favorite portraits of the entire day.

Inside the reception space, tables were decked out with elegant candles and lush floral arrangements from The White Willow, tying in the soft romantic tones of the day. Cecelia and Andrew kicked off the night with a choreographed first dance that had everyone cheering, and then the party officially started thanks to Blaze Entertainment, who kept the dance floor full all night.

Guests also enjoyed a beautiful wedding cake by Telia Johnson Cakes, and Cecelia looked radiant all evening thanks to flawless glam by Makeup Mel.

To wrap up their incredible wedding day, the couple made their grand exit under cold sparks—courtesy of Creative Entertainment—before riding off again in their vintage car. It was truly a fairytale ending.

Heading Home & Honeymooning in Hawaii

After celebrating with their closest friends and family, Cecelia and Andrew returned home to California and are headed to Hawaii for their honeymoon. It was such an honor to be part of their day and capture every beautiful moment.
